So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some helpful hints:
Clean wall and make sure it is dried out. For newly painted walls let paint "thouroughly dry" for 10 to 15 days prior to installing decals. Even if new paint seems dry, it may nonetheless need to settle and fully dry. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not recommended on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very textured and permeable surfaces, wallpaper or fragile surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile as long as the surface is clean and absolutely free of moisture during application. Make sure the design element does not overlap grout region as water might leak under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, as long as they are positioned tightly onto the surface so moisture is unable to reach under the design element. Once placed, RoomMates should not shift even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals should not be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they shouldn't be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may cling to the adhesive and destroy the product. Also, don't position at the bottom or inside the tub. Water could seep underneath the design element too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When using, make sure you begin from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the other parts of the element away from the wall/surface. Gradually go down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto surface (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you ought to be able to shift any excess bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the element. If the difficulty continues (this would solely occur with the giant decals), you can punch a teeny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to push the air out.
In all, it is always most effective to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is textured, performance could be critically reduced. Make certain surface is clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and ruin the merchandise. Shopping |
