So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some helpful hints:
Thoroughly clean wall and make sure it is dry. For recentlycolored walls let paint "thouroughly dry" for 10 to 15 days prior to putting on decals. Even if new paint seems dry, it may nevertheless need to settle and completelycure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not recommended on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and porous surfaces, wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile as long as the surface is thoroughly clean and completelydry during installation. Make certain the design element does not cover grout area as water could possiblyleak under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, given that they are placedtightly onto the surface area so moisturecannotreach under the sticker. Once applied, RoomMates should notmove even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals must not be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they should not be placed on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may cling to the adhesive and damage the product. Also, neverput at the base or inside the tub. Water could filterunder the wall decal too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When applying, make sure you start from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the other parts of the element away from the wall/surface. Slowly go straight down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once placed you should be able to shift any excess bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the issuepersists (this would solelyhappen with the giant decals), you can punch a very small (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to push the air out.
In all, it is alwaysmost effective to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface area is textured, effectiveness could be criticallyreduced. Make sure surface is clean of dust and dirt or you may damage the adhesive and damage the product. Shopping |
